CLIENT AGREEMENT
Thank you for choosing Snohomish Mobile Pet Salon, LLC (hereafter referred to as SMPS). We are happy to have you as a new client. Clear and timely communication is one of our goals, and this Client Agreement contributes to that goal. Please don’t hesitate to ask your groomer any questions you have before signing.
When using SMPS, you agree to the following terms and policies:
Legal Ownership
You affirm that you are the rightful legal owner or caregiver to the pet(s) for which services are rendered. You hereby entrust your pet(s) to SMPS for grooming services. For the purposes of this agreement the terms “pet” or “pets” is defined as a dog, dogs or a cat, cats.
Appointments
SMPS appreciates your patronage and values client retention. Appointments must be made in advance, sometimes requiring two to three weeks' notice. On the day of your appointment, please note that SMPS may experience interruptions or delays due to factors such as refueling, traffic, driving distance, or running over on a previous appointment. Appointment times are an ‘estimated time of arrival’ with a 2-hour time range during which your groomer may arrive. Your groomer will likely call or text you 30 to 60 minutes prior to your appointment to confirm their arrival.
Cancellation, No Shows and Related Fees
1. SMPS Cancellation: On rare occasions, SMPS may need to cancel an appointment due to equipment failure, weather, or illness. Every effort will be made to notify you in advance and reschedule.
2. Cancellation Fee: If you are unable to keep an appointment, please notify SMPS at least 24 hours in advance to avoid a Cancellation Fee of $100. Due to time constraints, SMPS does not send appointment reminders and relies on you to keep track of your scheduled appointments.
3. Travel Fee: If you cannot secure your pet for grooming, SMPS will charge a Travel Fee of $100.
4. No-Show Fee: If you do not cancel and are not home during the 2-hour appointment window, SMPS will charge a No-Show Fee of $100. If you are not home for your first appointment, you will be charged the No-Show Fee and SMPS will not schedule any future appointments.
5. Fee Payment Due: Cancellation, No-Show, and Travel Fees are due within 7 calendar days of the missed appointment.
Payment Information
Payment is due at the time of service. SMPS accepts Venmo, cash, and most major credit cards. No further service will be provided until the previous service is paid.
Key on File Service
SMPS offers a ‘key on file service’ where you provide a key, garage code, or some form of access to your home. Payment can be made in advance or left at the location. The pet must be crated or left in an accessible area such as a laundry room or bathroom. SMPS will not be held responsible for damages or theft to your home or property.
Matting and De-matting
At SMPS, the safety and well-being of your pet are our top priorities. We understand that pets with matted coats require special care, and we are committed to providing the best possible service while ensuring the comfort and safety of your furry friend.
-
Understanding Matting and Its Implications: Matting can cause significant discomfort and pain for your pet. Attempting to de-mat a coat can be painful, expensive, and may lead to skin irritation or exacerbate pre-existing skin conditions.
-
Risks Associated with De-Matting: Pets may exhibit behaviors such as pulling and resisting during the de-matting process. These actions can increase the risk of injury to both the pet and the groomer.
-
Reasonable and Safe Efforts: Our groomers will make reasonable and safe efforts to de-mat your pet's coat. However, if the matting is severe, we may determine that shaving the coat is the safest and most humane option.
-
Groomer's Discretion: For the safety and comfort of your pet, the decision to shave a matted coat will be made at the groomer's discretion. Shaving may be necessary to prevent undue stress and injury.
-
Changes in Appearance: Shaving a matted coat will result in a dramatic change in your pet's appearance. The hair will be shaved very close to the skin, which may be surprising or distressing to some pet owners.
-
Additional Costs: The cost of shaving a matted coat will be added to the regular grooming fee. This is due to the additional time and care required to perform the procedure safely.
Additional Considerations
-
Skin Care: After shaving, we may recommend specific products or treatments to care for your pet's skin and promote healthy regrowth of their coat.
-
Preventative Measures: To avoid matting in the future, we encourage regular grooming appointments and at-home maintenance. Our groomers can provide guidance on how to keep your pet's coat healthy and tangle-free.
-
Communication: We will always communicate openly with you about the condition of your pet's coat and the best course of action. Your understanding and cooperation are essential to ensure the best outcome for your pet.
By agreeing to our services, you acknowledge and accept the terms of this matting policy. We appreciate your trust in SMPS and look forward to keeping your pet happy, healthy, and looking their best.
Cologne
SMPS uses shampoo, moisturizer, and cologne when bathing pets. If you or your pet has any allergies, please inform SMPS prior to grooming.
Shaving Sanitary Area and Anal Gland Expression
For dogs, our service includes shaving the sanitary area and expressing the anal gland. This may cause some pets to scratch the area afterward. If you do not wish for these services to be performed, please inform SMPS.
Ear Hair Plucking or Trimming
Some veterinarians recommend ear hair plucking, which our service includes to reduce ear wax and improve air circulation. If you do not wish for your dog to have their ear hair plucked, please inform SMPS. Ear hair trimming is an alternative you may request.
Veterinary Information and Current Vaccinations
You must provide veterinary information and, if requested, proof of all vaccinations. SMPS recommends dogs have the kennel cough vaccination.
Safety and Pet Behavior
Inform SMPS if your pet is prone to biting, becomes stressed during grooming, or has aggressive tendencies. SMPS will not accept aggressive pets. If a pet bites or displays aggressive behavior during an appointment, SMPS will discontinue services and you will be responsible for the full grooming charge. You will be liable for any pet bites or property damage caused by your pet(s). SMPS reserves the right to refuse service based on pet behavior.
Veterinary Medical Care Release
Grooming involves equipment that can cause a nick or cut. It can also expose or aggravate hidden medical problems. If your groomer believes your pet requires immediate medical attention, they will attempt to notify you. If unable to reach you, SMPS will seek medical attention for your pet. You agree to be responsible for any veterinarian expenses.
Senior Pets and Pets with Health Issues
Grooming can be stressful, especially for senior pets and those with health problems. SMPS will groom for cleanliness and comfort, avoiding additional stress. SMPS will not be responsible for accidents or injuries to senior or health-compromised pets during grooming. You authorize SMPS to act as your agent if your pet requires emergency services and agree to pay all costs.
Flea/Tick Infestation/Salon Sanitation If fleas or ticks are found, SMPS may deny service or use flea and tick shampoo. An additional $100 de-bug cleaning fee will be charged. Flea and tick products may cause allergic reactions. SMPS will not be held responsible for any injuries resulting from allergic reactions. Flea and tick treatments are not guaranteed to be 100% effective.
Pictures You give permission for SMPS to take pictures of your pet before and after grooming and use them for advertising on their website, social media, or other purposes at SMPS’s discretion.
